Privacy Policy
Effective: 7 October 2026 · Last updated: 7 October 2026
1. Who we are
Promise Fitness™ is a fitness and accountability community (“Promise Fitness”, “we”, “us” or “our”). For personal information processed in connection with this website and community, Promise Fitness is the responsible party or controller where it determines how and why that information is processed.
Privacy and legal enquiries may be sent to Email Promise Fitness.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to this Promise Fitness website and personal information that Promise Fitness itself receives in connection with the community. It does not replace the privacy policies of third-party services such as WhatsApp. A future Promise Fitness mobile app may collect additional information; before that happens, we will update this policy and provide any additional notices or choices required by applicable law.
3. Information we currently process
Website technical information
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically record limited technical information needed to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the site, such as IP address, date and time of a request, requested page, browser or device information, referring page and server/security logs.
Information you choose to send us
If you email us or otherwise communicate directly with Promise Fitness, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, contact details, message and any information you choose to include.
WhatsApp Community
If you follow a link to join or interact with the Promise Fitness WhatsApp Community, your use of WhatsApp is governed by WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy practices. Depending on your WhatsApp settings and participation, community administrators and other participants may see information you choose to make visible or post in the community. Please do not post sensitive medical information or information you do not want other community participants to see.
4. What we do not currently do on this website
The current website does not provide Promise Fitness user accounts, accept payments, use behavioural advertising, sell personal information, run third-party analytics scripts, or intentionally use optional advertising or analytics cookies. If these practices change, this policy and any required consent or notice mechanisms will be updated before or when the change takes effect.
5. Why we process information
We process information only as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the website and community, respond to communications and requests, administer participation, enforce our terms, protect users and our rights, comply with law, and improve the service. Depending on the jurisdiction and context, our lawful basis may include your consent, performance of a contract or steps you request before a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating a safe and useful service where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
6. Health and wellness information
Fitness goals, activity, diet, sleep, wellbeing and similar information can be sensitive. The public website does not currently ask you to create a health record or enter health information. Please use care when sharing fitness or wellbeing information in a community space. If a future Promise Fitness app processes health- or wellness-related information, we will apply additional privacy and security measures and provide appropriate notices and choices before such processing begins.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
The current website does not intentionally set optional analytics or advertising cookies. Essential hosting, security or infrastructure technologies may operate at server or network level where necessary to provide and protect the site. We will introduce an appropriate notice or consent mechanism if we later deploy non-essential technologies that require one.
8. Sharing and service providers
We may disclose information to service providers that support hosting, security, communications or other necessary operations, subject to appropriate arrangements where required. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse or security incidents, or in connection with a legitimate corporate transaction. We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
9. International processing and transfers
Promise Fitness is operated by a United States company and may be accessed internationally. Service providers, administrators or infrastructure may therefore process information in countries other than the one in which you live. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use an appropriate lawful mechanism and take reasonable steps to protect the information.
10. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legitimate operational, security, dispute-resolution and legal requirements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and context. We may retain records longer where required by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. No Internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to ask whether we process your information, request access or a copy, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and complain to an appropriate regulator. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions and verification requirements.
To make a privacy request, email Email Promise Fitness. We may need information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and request.
13. European Economic Area and European Union — GDPR
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to our processing, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, as applicable. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. You may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country. Where required, we will identify and use a lawful basis for processing and an appropriate mechanism for transfers outside the EEA.
14. United States privacy rights
Privacy rights in the United States vary by state. Where a state privacy law applies to Promise Fitness and to you, we will honour the rights it provides, which may include rights to know/access, correct or delete personal information, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of certain sales, targeted advertising or profiling. The current website does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right protected by applicable law.
California: where the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, applies, California residents may have rights to know/access, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing and limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. Because we do not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, there is presently no “Do Not Sell or Share” mechanism on this site.
15. Children and young people
Promise Fitness is not designed to collect personal information directly from children through this website. If you are under the age of majority where you live, involve a parent or legal guardian before joining a community, undertaking a fitness programme or sending us personal information. We do not knowingly use children’s personal information for behavioural advertising or sale. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, contact us so we can assess and address it.
16. Third-party links
Our site may link to WhatsApp and other third-party services. We do not control their privacy practices. Review the privacy information provided by those services before giving them personal information.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Promise Fitness develops, laws change or our practices change. The “Last updated” date above will identify the current version. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide any additional notice or consent required by applicable law.
18. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact Promise Fitness™ at Email Promise Fitness.
This policy is intended to describe our actual privacy practices and support compliance with applicable privacy laws. It is not a representation that every privacy law applies to every user or to Promise Fitness in every circumstance.
